The Naughty Girls Excellent Easter Adventure!!!

Once upon a Good Friday (or not-so-good-Friday for us!) all but 2 of our beloved Love birds escaped their cage. Yep, one minute they were there - and the next they were gone! We were all so devastated....after they took off we had the male (father) and one of the babies left but NO KIM and NO ADELE!
We were out for the day so we left the cage with the remaining birds where it usually stands in the sunshine hoping that maybe they might, by some miracle, return and find a way back inside the cage by the time we got home.
At dusk we got home and of course- no birds had returned.

We moved the cage to the garage and listened to the remaining birds calling their mates, it seemed such a sad and lonely unanswered calling....then as if by magic... one, two, three lovebirds began circling around the yard.....

To cut a long (and HILARIOUS) story short, with a bit of patience, Darren was able to grab one
within minutes, then very soon after Ben's quick thinking trapped another within the garage so that Darren could grab it and return it to the cage also.

Now get this!....
The following morning Darren returned to check the birds and a third baby was also on the top of the cage waiting to be returned! We dont know how/when he got into the garage overnight - but I guess we kinda dont really mind either!

So after all that drama we lost 1 lovebird - I dont know which one but I like to think that those naughty girls - Kim and Adele are now home safe and sound after their eggcellent (couldn't resist!) Easter adventure!!

(pic at right:)Mum and Dad safe at home and together again.
